ASCO™ Fuel Shutoff Valves
On a fuel train the valve is not a control device, it is a safety device. These are the ones that close — certified as safety shut-off valves by UL, CSA and FM, with proof of closure when the code demands it.

A burner or boiler fuel train is inspected against code, and the inspector does not ask what the valve is made of — he asks which agency listed it, whether the closed position is electrically interlocked, and how the closure is proven. That is why every series below carries its approvals explicitly, and why we do not carry one series' certification over to another: the 040 and the S262, for example, publish UL and CSA but not FM.
The decisions that follow are about how the train has to behave. Proof of closure (043) sends back an electrical confirmation that the disc actually seated. Manual reset (044) refuses to reopen after a trip until a person goes and looks. A vent valve (S262) is normally open so leaking gas escapes instead of accumulating while the system is down — it complements the shutoff valve, it does not replace it. And flow decides size: from the compact 040 up to the 215 at Cv 130.
